Confirming the success of AAPT’s hard-hitting campaign to deliver competitive services and prices for Australian consumers, AAPT today announced the success of its Bundle Calculator. The Calculator has flourished month-on-month since its introduction in October with a 30% increase in visitors over the last four weeks, with more than 200,000 visitors now having viewed and used this handy online tool.

The Bundle Calculator gives customers the ability to select the current usage levels of their home phone and broadband services and choose the bundle that offers them the most value. The calculator shows the cost and conditions of all AAPT bundles.

From the results over the past two months, Tuesday has been the most popular day for customers to visit the site and view their potential new internet options. Termed by AAPT as ‘ Internet Day’, Tuesday has consistently been the day when customers are looking to rev-up their week with ultra-fast and ultra-efficient phone and web access. In addition to web-based sign-ups, AAPT call centres have been kept busy with thousands of customers calling over the summer period to find out more about changing their phone and internet services provider to Australia’s ‘straight talking’ telco.

According to Stuart Hilton, Communications Manager, Consumer and Small Enterprise, AAPT, the choices available to consumers through a tool like the Bundle Calculator have long been desired by a community looking for greater choice in its telecommunications services.

“Services like broadband internet are becoming more popular for Australian families in the home with the need for internet access vital for work, school and entertainment.

“Following an aggressive above-the-line campaign over the summer period incorporating online, print and TV advertising, the major increase in web traffic to the AAPT site is evidence of the desire of Australian consumers for greater choice. Our bundled products are designed with the consumer in mind – what they need, how much they want to spend and how they want to use their service. Through the Bundle Calculator’s easy-to-use web interface, consumers can select how much they currently spend on their home phone and internet in two separate easy-to-use sliders. In a separate window, the bundle calculator will then present the best AAPT bundle available for the individual’s needs, highlighting any extra value they get from the bundled deal.
