Paul Broad - Chief Executive Officer

Paul was appointed Chief Executive Officer of AAPT in May 2007 and has since led Australia’s third largest full-service telecommunications carrier into a position of strength in the wholesale, business and consumer markets. His appointment followed Telecom New Zealand’s acquisition of PowerTel and Paul has successfully and simultaneously merged and integrated the two businesses to leverage the best of their individual strengths.

Paul’s previous role was Managing Director of PowerTel, following 15 years of service as the Managing Director of some of Australia’s largest energy and water companies such as EnergyAustralia, Hunter Water and Sydney Water Corporation.

James Orlando - Chief Financial Officer

James Orlando was appointed AAPT’s Chief Financial Officer of in May 2007. James previously held the role of PowerTel Chief Financial Officer, since May 2004.

Prior to his role with PowerTel, James was Chief Financial Officer of Santera Systems Inc., a US-based telecommunications switching. In 2003, he transformed the company into a telecom survivor through the completion of a merger transaction with a public company. Prior to Santera, James was Assistant Treasurer International and Project Finance at Lucent Technologies where he led a world-wide team responsible for originating the company’s multi-billion dollar vendor finance portfolio.

Clive Poolman - General Manager Strategy

Clive was appointed General Manager Strategy in August 2008.

Since AAPT’s inception, Clive Poolman has played a pivotal role in the growth of the company, having joined AAPT in 1987 and going on to play a key role as one AAPT’s original executive team.

Prior to his current role, Clive was General Manager Wholesale for eleven years and has spent over twenty years with the company in total.

Prior to joining AAPT, Clive held engineering and management roles across multiple industries.

Nick Saphin - General Manager, Consumer and Corporate Marketing

As General Manager Consumer and Corporate Marketing, Nick Saphin has led AAPT's Consumer business since May 2009. He has also led the marketing strategy for AAPT’s wholesale, business and consumer divisions since May 2007.

Prior, Nick was General Manager Sales for PowerTel.  Before joining PowerTel, Nick was General Manager of Retail & Marketing at EnergyAustralia. Aside from managing EnergyAustralia’s existing retail sales operations, he was responsible for driving the company into new markets nationally, driving growth in a newly deregulated and competitive market place.

Jenny Wood - General Manager, Customer Service and General Manager, Human Resources

Jenny Wood is AAPT's General Manager, Customer Services. The Customer Services area is responsible for servicing consumer, business and wholesale customers through its call centres, billing and provisioning functions. In May 2009 Jenny was also appointed General Manager Human Resources.

Jenny joined AAPT in 2003 and has held a number of roles with the company in that time. These include Head of Billing, Head of Commerce Solutions and Head of Technology for Customer Services.

Before joining AAPT Jenny was with Westpac for 11 years where she worked in the Customer Service and Call Centre areas for the Bank and project managed a number of large technology and systems projects.

David Yuile - Chief Operating Officer

David is AAPT's Chief Operating Officer (COO). David is charged with leading the transformation of the integrated AAPT-PowerTel network infrastructure from product inception to customer delivery. His previous role was Director of Network and Technology for PowerTel, a position he held since February 2005.

Prior to PowerTel, David served as Chief Executive Officer of 90 East, one of Australia’s largest providers of managed security services. From 1997 to 1999, David served as co-founder of Sales Technology which he sold to Interliant, a NASDAQ listed provider of managed Infrastructure and consulting services. His business management experience also includes various roles at Asia Online, Pepsi Cola International and Mars Electronics International, a division of Mars Inc.

Stephen Dunne - General Manager, Wholesale

Stephen Dunne was appointed General Manager of Wholesale in May 2009. The Wholesale area is responsible for managing AAPT’s wholesale customers, as well as managing relationships with international carriers.

Prior to this role, Stephen was Head of International Carriers for AAPT, a role he held since November 2007. Before AAPT, Stephen was responsible for managing and driving sales growth with key strategic partners at PowerTel. Stephen has over 14 years local and international experience in the IT&T industry.

Mark Rafferty - General Manager, AAPT Business Solutions

Mark Rafferty was appointed General Manager of AAPT Business Solutions in May 2009. AAPT Business Solutions is responsible for sales and account management for AAPT’s business customers.

Before taking up this role Mark was AAPT’s Queensland State Manager and, prior to that, PowerTel’s Queensland Manager.

Before joining PowerTel Mark held senior sales roles with IntraPower Pty Limited and iExec Pty Ltd.
